Venues

Venues range from historic palazzos and castles built by the Knights of Malta to modern conference centres.

There are also village squares, rooftop bars in Valletta with views over the harbour, farmhouses on Gozo and beach clubs on the coast.

History

Malta’s history runs from prehistoric temples through Phoenician, Roman and Arab rule to the fortresses of the Knights of St John.

Mdina, the old walled capital, is known as the Silent City; Valletta is the baroque city the Knights built.

Coast and countryside

Food and wine

Maltese food draws on Sicilian and North African cooking. Local favourites include pastizzi, ftira and fresh fish.

Malta has its own vineyards and wineries.

Transfers rarely take more than 20 to 30 minutes.
