World-famous tenor Andrea Bocelli has released a new cover of Gerry & The Pacemakers classic You’ll Never Walk Alone with a music video shot entirely in Malta.
The dimly lit halls of the historic MCC set the ambiance for an emotional performance by Bocelli before the environment shifts to the iconic Upper Barrakka Gardens with a breathtaking backdrop of the Grand Harbour.
The world-renowned musician has a strong affinity for Malta, which produced its own tenor, Joseph Calleja, and even welcomed the new year with a spectacular 50-minute performance on Maltese TV.
The 50-minute set included eight songs across two iconic locations across the island – Fort St Elmo and St John’s Co-Cathedral. The decision to perform eight songs was in tribute to the eight-point cross of the Knights of St John.

Bocelli Will Welcome The New Year With Spectacular Performance On Maltese TV
This New Year’s Eve is going to be special for many reasons, one of which is the fact that Andrea Bocelli will feature on TVM for a small concert shot right here in Malta.
The world-renowned tenor will perform a 50-minute production along with an ensemble, singing eight songs across two iconic locations across the island – Fort St Elmo and St John’s Co-Cathedral.
The decision to perform eight songs is in tribute to the eight-point cross of the Knights of St John.
Shots of Malta’s beauty and landscapes will accompany Boccelli as he performs songs inspired by his latest album, Believe.
The announcement provides clarity as to why Bocelli visited the island last month, where he spent time filming the production and bonding with his fellow tenor, Joseph Calleja.
“This small island is a truly special place, like the heart of the Mediterranean,” he told TVM.
The 50-minute concert will premiere on TVM at 9pm this Thursday. The production will then be broadcasted to other stations around the world and online, including Andrea Bocelli’s own YouTube channel which has over 4.3 million subscribers.
Although we might not be able to celebrate the way we would like this year, having Bocelli perform from Malta on our TV set will undoubtedly make the evening special.
