Fort St Elmo
Fort St Elmo is a star-shaped fort in Valletta. It stands on the seaward shore of the peninsula that divides Marsamxett Harbour from the Grand Harbour. With Fort Tigné and Fort Ricasoli, it guards the entrances to both harbours. It is best known for its part in the Great Siege of Malta in 1565.
Events at the fort are held on the parade grounds opposite the Chapel of St Anne. The buildings around the grounds were barracks during the British period.
