Seated in one room, our largest awards night
600

An awards night can take the whole of the Knights of St John's 16th-century Sacra Infermeria, once the finest hospital in Europe.

For a 600-guest President's Club, the winners' reception opened in the Infermeria itself, under vaulted stone. The ceremony ran in Republic Hall on a custom stage built out over the house stage, backed by full LED walls, with tiered seating for all 600. Dinner followed for 450 across four courses in La Valette Hall.

Exclusive-use venues for evening events

Buildings of national importance in Malta can be contracted for private use. None of them can be booked like an ordinary event venue. Each needs negotiated access, a permit file and a build plan, and we secure availability before a programme is contracted. Capacities below are indicative for a seated dinner and depend on the build.

Sacra Infermeria · the Knights' 16th-century hospital ward, one of Europe's longest halls
To 1,400
Fort St Elmo & Fort Manoel · star forts on their own ground, marquee builds
To 800
Upper Barrakka & the Saluting Battery · bastion gardens above the Grand Harbour, with a private gun salute
To 500
Mdina cathedral and bastions · a private recital in the silent city, after public closing
To 400
Palazzo Parisio · a baroque palace and its formal gardens, taken in full

We give groups this size a choice of activities rather than one coach itinerary.

We build a menu of activities with online sign-up and set capacities, so guests choose their own week and no activity is oversubscribed on the day. On the 600-guest programme there were fifteen activity options across four days.

We build a working artisan market in place of a room drop.

The stalls are run by the makers themselves, with hand-loom weaving, Mdina Glass, silver filigree, ceramics and nougat. Each guest receives a token and chooses a piece directly from the maker. The money stays with Maltese producers, and every piece fits in hand luggage.

Senior leadership can arrive through the airport's private VIP terminal.

On the 600-guest programme they dined at a private Valletta townhouse hosted by a scholar of the Order of Malta, took a hands-on cooking class with exclusive use of a family kitchen in the old maritime city, and had a Michelin-starred dinner in Mdina for twenty.

President's Club in Malta: common questions

How many guests can Malta handle for an incentive programme?

A group of up to 649 rooms can stay in one property, the InterContinental and voco Malta, which are joined by a bridge and sold as one hotel. Larger groups use two hotels close together. The Sacra Infermeria seats around 1,400; the limit is hotel room blocks.

When is the best time of year for an incentive trip to Malta?

April to June and September to November. Both windows give warm evenings for outdoor events, comfortable daytime temperatures for activity programmes and better rates than peak summer. July and August are hot at 30–35°C and busy with leisure demand; December to March is good value but should be planned indoor-led.

How do US groups get to Malta?

Delta flies nonstop from New York (JFK) three times a week from June to October, about nine and a half hours. From elsewhere in the US, groups connect once through a European hub such as London, Frankfurt, Zurich, Munich, Rome or Istanbul. Colours of Malta builds transfer schedules backwards from your flight manifest and staffs the airport until the last guest is through.

How far in advance should we book?

Nine to eighteen months secures first-choice hotel inventory and historic venues, particularly for the April–June and September–November windows. Colours of Malta has also contracted and delivered full programmes in ten weeks. Ask early and we will tell you what is still available for your dates.

How much does a President’s Club in Malta cost?

Colours of Malta does not publish prices, because the cost depends on the dates, the group size, the hotel and the venues. Send those to incentives@com.com.mt. A senior planner replies the same day, usually with available hotels, venue options for your dates and an indicative cost per head.
